Despu\u00e9s del descubrimiento del <strong>bos\u00f3n de Higgs<\/strong> en 2012, la comunidad cient\u00edfica concentra ahora sus esfuerzos en el proyecto High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC), una actualizaci\u00f3n que permitir\u00e1 multiplicar la cantidad de colisiones entre protones y ampliar significativamente el potencial de nuevos descubrimientos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">El prop\u00f3sito de esta modernizaci\u00f3n no es incrementar la energ\u00eda de las colisiones, sino aumentar la denominada luminosidad del acelerador, es decir, el n\u00famero de interacciones que ocurren en un mismo periodo de tiempo. Esto permitir\u00e1 obtener una cantidad de datos sin precedentes y estudiar fen\u00f3menos extremadamente raros con una precisi\u00f3n mucho mayor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Para conseguirlo, el CERN sustituye componentes fundamentales del acelerador por nuevos imanes superconductores de \u00faltima generaci\u00f3n, cavidades de radiofrecuencia, sistemas criog\u00e9nicos y detectores completamente renovados para los experimentos ATLAS y CMS.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">La directora general del CERN, <strong>Fabiola Gianotti<\/strong>, resumi\u00f3 la importancia del proyecto al se\u00f1alar:<\/span><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">&#8220;El LHC de Alta Luminosidad ampliar\u00e1 el alcance del LHC m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de su misi\u00f3n inicial, brindando nuevas oportunidades para el descubrimiento, la medici\u00f3n con mayor precisi\u00f3n de las propiedades de part\u00edculas como el bos\u00f3n de Higgs y la exploraci\u00f3n cada vez m\u00e1s profunda de los componentes fundamentales del universo&#8221;.<\/span><\/em><\/h4>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ficomics.buap.mx\/\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1013\" src=\"https:\/\/conceptouno.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8377.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"6250\" height=\"750\" srcset=\"https:\/\/conceptouno.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8377.png 6250w, https:\/\/conceptouno.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8377-2048x246.png 2048w, https:\/\/conceptouno.tv\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IMG_8377-500x60.png 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 6250px) 100vw, 6250px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nM\u00e1s datos para responder los grandes misterios del universo<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Con el HL-LHC, cuya entrada en operaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 prevista para 2030 tras la actual fase de actualizaci\u00f3n, los cient\u00edficos esperan recopilar alrededor de diez veces m\u00e1s datos que los obtenidos durante las primeras etapas del LHC. Esta enorme base de informaci\u00f3n permitir\u00e1 estudiar con mucho mayor detalle el bos\u00f3n de Higgs y buscar indicios de nueva f\u00edsica m\u00e1s all\u00e1 del Modelo Est\u00e1ndar.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Entre los principales objetivos cient\u00edficos destacan la b\u00fasqueda de part\u00edculas relacionadas con la <strong>materia oscura<\/strong>, la explicaci\u00f3n del desequilibrio entre materia y antimateria y la posible existencia de nuevas fuerzas o dimensiones del universo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">El incremento de la luminosidad tambi\u00e9n permitir\u00e1 registrar hasta 200 colisiones de protones cada vez que los haces se crucen en los detectores, una mejora que incrementar\u00e1 considerablemente las probabilidades de observar procesos extremadamente poco frecuentes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Una inversi\u00f3n cient\u00edfica con impacto mundial<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">La modernizaci\u00f3n del LHC representa uno de los proyectos tecnol\u00f3gicos m\u00e1s complejos del siglo XXI.
